Francisco “Paco” Rabaneda Cuervo, a Spanish-born fashion designer who started his career as an architect before trying his hand at jewelry and fashion design, founded French fashion house PacoRabanne in 1966. He quickly became known for his flamboyant and eclectic fashions that featured unconventional materials such as metal and paper. The house's first perfume is the now-legendary women's scent Calandre, introduced in 1969. Since then a series of innovative fragrances in distinctive bottles for both men and women have followed with over 50 to his name including international bestsellers Invictus, 1 Million and Lady Million as well as the classic XS range.
